Every journey is different, as breathing retraining is unique to the individual. We will adapt our approach based on your current breathing patterns, health conditions, nervous system health and lifestyle. There are 15 core elements that I cover with all clients: 

  1. A Complete Breathing Assessment - Our journey begins here by evaluating your breathing. We'll examine its mechanics, biochemistry, and the influence of past stress and trauma. From the outset, we'll pinpoint any unhealthy breathing patterns and lifestyle aspects that can be improved upon.

  2. How to Breathe 101 – We will cover the foundational elements of Buteyko Breathing: nasal breathing 24/7, mouth taping, small breath holds and breathing light. 

  3. Intermediate & Advanced level Breathing Exercises - During our time together, you will learn a wide range of breathing techniques, each week building on the last. All the practices are founded in the principles of Buteyko Breathing, providing immediate and long-term benefits.

  4. Between Fight or Flight and Rest & Digest - Gain expertise in managing your nervous system to achieve either tranquillity and balance or heightened energy and focus as needed.

  5. Access Mental Clarity - Learn the theory and techniques to improve oxygen delivery and blood flow to your brain, initially on-demand, and eventually 24/7.

  6. Building Stress Resilience - Learn breathing techniques to effectively lower stress and anxiety levels. Over time, your breathing will change so that you feel calmer and more relaxed all of the time.

  7. Diaphragmatic Breathing Mastery - Perfect the art of activating the diaphragm, for optimal health benefits.

  8. Breath-Powered Sleep Enhancement - Utilize breathing methods to prepare the body for deeper, more restorative sleep.

  9. Night-time Breathing Rituals - Develop evening breathing routines to improve the quality of deep and REM sleep stages. We will look at sleep posture, mouth taping, bedroom environment optimisations and more.

  10. Common Breathing Mistakes and How to Avoid them - With so much misleading information out there, we will identify bad habits and incorrect techniques to prevent wasted time or negative impacts on your health.

  11. Adaptations for Specific Health Conditions & Sensitive Nervous Systems - Conditions such as Long Covid, ME/CFS & Sensitive nervous systems need a carefully adapted approach.

  12. Deepening Relaxation – Buteyko isn’t just about breathing, it is also about learning to relax the body, during breathing exercises and throughout your day.    

  13. Breathing Adaptations for Busy People - The more you put into your breathing practice, the more you will get out of it. But there are lots of ways to integrate breathing into your day, no matter what your lifestyle.

  14. Implement Buteyko Lifestyle Changes - Change the way you breathe during physical exercise, sleep and while speaking to “plug the leaks” and progress to new levels of wellbeing.

  15. Light, Slow, and Deep (Diaphragmatic) Breathing (L.S.D Breathing) - Embrace a breathing method that is gentle, slow, and deep to maximize oxygen uptake, deep relaxation and repair.

The One-to-One Programme:

The programme comprises 6 sessions, over a 3-month period. Here is how it works:

Session 1 (75 Mins) - Full Breathing Assessment and Deep Dive

We begin by setting the foundation for your breathing transformation journey. A complete breathing assessment with immediate recommendations to change your breathing from day 1. We will cover the basics of health breathing, and you will be given guided breathing and relaxation exercises to begin immediately.

Sessions 2-5 (60 Mins) - Consistent Weekly Progress

Over the next 4 weeks, we meet weekly to introduce new breathing techniques and lifestyle changes. Each session combines practical information, guided breathing experiences and time for Q&A. Based on your feedback and progress, the progress is continuously tailored to your needs. After each session, you will receive an email with a detailed plan for the week with links to bespoke MP3s recorded for you in the session.

Practical Self-Practice Period

After the fifth session, there is a 6-10 week interval. This break is crucial for you to apply and deepen your practice, solidifying the techniques in your daily life. Email support is available during this time.

Session 6 (75 mins) Final Assessment and Guidance

Conclude with a follow-up session to review your progress, address any challenges, and create an updated breathing plan for the next 3 months.

Ongoing Support and Communication:

Throughout the course, you'll receive my personal support and guidance. Whether it's through scheduled calls, emails, or online meetings, I'm here to assist you every step of the way.

Accountability and Support:

As your coach, my role is to ensure you're fully supported and on track with your program. I am committed to helping you achieve significant health and performance enhancements.
